The European Cancer Centre (EuCC) is a multi-centre and interdisciplinary organisation founded in 1992 by the Haematology and Oncology departments and the institutes of fundamental research into Cancer of the Freiburg, Basel and Strasbourg universities.
The EuCC objectives are as follows:
- the exchange of information and scientific knowledge
- to improve and intensify co-operation between the clinical centres and fundamental research institutes, as well as between the universities and the pharmaceutical industry
- to initiate cooperative projects in the fields of education and training
Each year the EuCC organises a symposium which attracts 200/ 300 people. This event enables young researchers to present their research output in the field of Cancer research and the best presentation is awarded the Paul Basset Prize.
